07-gerald-lee.jpgThe 2007 Pittsfield CityJazz Festival was held Mon-Fri, Oct. 1-5, 2007 and included the following programs and events. City Council president Gerald Lee reads a mayoral proclamation of “Jazz Week in Pittsfield.”

Jazz in Schools (Pittsfield high schools and middle schools), thanks in part to grants from KB Toys and Greylock Federal Credit Union.

Thursday, Oct. 4 - Masonic Hall, 8pm
Williams College Jazz Ensemble

- Presented in collaboration with Women of Color Giving Circle.

Friday, Oct. 5 - Crowne Plaza, 5:30-6:30pm
Latin Percussion master class/clinic with Alex Torres

Saturday, Oct. 6 - Berkshire Museum, 2pm
Documentary Jazz Films:
- Electric Heart (the story of Don Ellis)
- Music Inn, the Berkshires jazz resort

St. Stephen’s Church, 8pm

Women in Jazz, featuring Peggy Stern, Claire Daly, Grace Kelly
Presented in connection with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thanks to the generous support of the Legacy Banks Foundation.

Sunday, Oct. 7 - Taconic High School, 2:30pm
Special event: John Medeski solo concert, plus commissioned work for Jazz piano soloist with youth orchestra from Pittsfield high schools. Presented in part through a grant from Nickelodeon.
